SD Industries continues to expand its in-house manufacturing capabilities with the addition of advanced Bodor M3 Tube Laser technology at our manufacturing facility in Conroe, Texas.
This new capability strengthens SD Industries’ ability to provide precision tube and pipe cutting for structural, architectural, miscellaneous metal, and custom fabrication applications. By bringing advanced tube laser processing in-house, SD Industries can provide customers with greater control over fabrication quality, production efficiency, material utilization, and project-specific requirements.
More than simply adding another machine to our facility, the Bodor M3 expands what SD Industries can manufacture—and how efficiently we can manufacture it.
Precision Tube Laser Cutting, Now In-House
Tube and pipe fabrication can involve numerous individual operations, including measuring, marking, cutting, drilling, coping, slotting, notching, and preparing components for welding and assembly.
The Bodor M3 brings many of these tube-processing requirements into a highly controlled CNC laser-cutting workflow.
With its advanced four-chuck tube-processing system, the M3 is designed to efficiently process tube material while supporting accurate cutting, complex geometries, and improved material utilization. Bodor's published M3 specifications identify a four-chuck system, tube processing up to approximately 356 mm round-tube diameter / square-tube side length, maximum machinable tube lengths of approximately 12 meters, and tube weights up to approximately 800 kg, depending on the machine configuration. Bodor's published M3 versions also include different laser-power configurations.
For SD Industries, this means more tube fabrication work can be completed directly within our own manufacturing operation.
What Does the Bodor M3 Allow SD Industries to Do?
The Bodor M3 is designed for more than simple straight cutting.
SD Industries can use advanced tube laser processing for:
Precision Cut-to-Length Components
Tube and pipe can be accurately cut to project-specific dimensions, helping provide consistent components for fabrication and assembly.
Complex Tube Profiles
The laser can create detailed profiles and contours that would otherwise require multiple fabrication steps.
Holes & Openings
Tube components can be produced with precisely positioned holes, slots, openings, and other project-specific features.
Notches & Connection Preparation
Tube members can be prepared for connections and assembly, helping improve fit-up and reduce manual secondary fabrication.
Repetitive Production Components
For projects requiring dozens, hundreds, or larger quantities of similar components, CNC processing provides consistent repeatability from part to part.
Custom Geometry
Unique architectural and fabrication requirements can be translated into digital cutting patterns and produced with a high degree of repeatability.
This capability is particularly valuable for projects where accuracy and consistent fit-up are important during welding and assembly.
Four-Chuck Tube Processing
One of the defining features of the Bodor M Series is its four-chuck tube-processing design.
Bodor's published material highlights four-chuck processing as a way to improve tube handling and support highly efficient cutting, including processing of the final sections of tube with minimal or no tail-end waste depending on the application and programming. The system is also designed to support simultaneous cutting and loading or unloading operations, helping improve overall workflow efficiency.
For production fabrication, better material utilization and reduced handling can translate into a more efficient manufacturing process.
Accuracy and Repeatability
Precision matters when multiple fabricated components need to fit together during welding, assembly, or installation.
Bodor publishes M3 positioning accuracy of approximately 0.06 mm/m and repositioning accuracy of approximately 0.04 mm for the platform. These capabilities support precision-oriented fabrication where repeatability and dimensional control are important.
For SD Industries, this supports a workflow in which digitally defined components can be produced consistently and transferred into downstream fabrication processes.
Built for Both Custom and Production Work
The Bodor M3 is valuable for a wide range of project requirements.
It can support:
One-of-a-kind custom components
Small production runs
Repeated production components
Large fabrication packages
Architectural metalwork
Structural tube components
Miscellaneous metal assemblies
Project-specific tube and pipe fabrication
This flexibility allows SD Industries to use the technology across different types and scales of projects rather than limiting the machine to a single application.
Products We Can Support With Tube Laser Fabrication
The addition of the Bodor M3 strengthens SD Industries' ability to manufacture and prepare components for a wide range of products.
Guardrails & Handrails
Tube laser processing can support posts, rails, frames, connection components, and other tubular elements used in guardrail and handrail systems.
SD Industries manufactures standard, decorative, ornamental, mesh, glass, laser-cut, and custom guardrail systems for a variety of architectural, commercial, institutional, transportation, and public applications.
Metal Staircases & Stair Railings
Tube laser cutting can support stair components and railing systems requiring accurate tube preparation, repeatable cuts, connection features, and custom geometry.
Canopies
Canopy structures frequently require multiple tube members to be cut and assembled precisely.
The Bodor M3 can support custom tube components used in canopy frames, supports, and architectural assemblies.
Fencing & Gates
Custom fencing and gate systems can benefit from repeatable tube cutting for posts, frames, rails, and custom components.
Bollards
Tube and pipe components used in bollards and protective site elements can be accurately cut and prepared for welding, finishing, and assembly.
Bicycle Racks
The machine can support the production of tubular components used in custom bicycle racks and other architectural or site-furnishing products.
Structural & Miscellaneous Metals
Tube and pipe components used for structural and miscellaneous metal applications can be digitally programmed and precision cut before proceeding to welding and final fabrication.
Custom Architectural Metalwork
Architectural projects often involve non-standard shapes, custom dimensions, and unique details.
The Bodor M3 gives SD Industries additional flexibility to manufacture those components accurately and repeatedly.
More Than Tube Cutting
The real advantage of bringing tube laser fabrication in-house is the ability to connect cutting with SD Industries' broader manufacturing and project-delivery capabilities.
Our workflow can integrate:
Engineering
3D Modeling & BIM

From Digital File to Finished Component
A typical project workflow can begin with digital project information and continue through multiple in-house manufacturing stages:
01 — Design & Engineering
Project geometry, specifications, and requirements are reviewed by the SD Industries team.
02 — Detailing & Digital Modeling
Fabrication-ready models and drawings are developed to define component geometry and manufacturing requirements.
03 — CNC Programming
Approved digital information is translated into machine-ready cutting instructions.
04 — Bodor M3 Tube Laser Cutting
Tube or pipe is processed with precision laser cutting to produce the required profiles, openings, holes, slots, and component geometry.
05 — Welding & Assembly
Cut components are prepared for subsequent fabrication, welding, and assembly.
06 — Quality Control
Finished components are reviewed for dimensional accuracy, fabrication quality, and project requirements.
07 — Delivery
Completed products and assemblies are prepared for project delivery or installation.
This connection between digital design and physical manufacturing helps SD Industries maintain greater control over the production process.
